I hope you would be thrilled as I have been to hear this voice message “See Daddy! That’s the New Kite,” resembling Joanne’s nine months after her passing. Was it a wakeup call to me? Certainly, yes. It has helped not only relieve all the quilt that I had felt for failing to keep her with us but also reveal that Joanne has a new form of life and is free from suffering like a kite flying happily in the sky as said in the Bible.
“Joanne symbolized LOVE,” Msgr. Harriman of Saint Cecilia Church said at Joanne’s funeral service on January 16, 2003. I hope Joanne’s journey of Faith, Love, and Hope would remind us the sufferings of many patients like her in need of a life-saving transplant and encourage us to support the NCUBB project at the UCSF children’s hospital. Thanks.
